Amiyah Scott is an American model and actress best known as the first transgender woman to record for the Real Housewives of Atlanta. His most significant role to date is that of Cotton on the musical drama series Star created by Lee Daniels and broadcast on Fox.

She was born as Arthur Scott on January 11, 1988, in Manhattan New York but raised in New Orleans Lousiana. At an early age, Scott recognized that her personality didn’t match the male body she was born with.

As a result, she told her family that she no longer wanted to be a man. Without her parents’ blessings, Scott underwent partial transgender surgery when she was 15 and became a woman when she was 17.

Unhappy with his parents’ disapproval of his choice, Scott left his family home and began earning a living. Discouraged by bullying and criticism from his community, Scott began a career in modeling, ballroom dancing and acting.

Shortly after she left home, her parents decided to accept her as she was and supported her career.

In no time, Scott was able to build a large social media following. She is known for her quirky colorful wigs, makeup, and fashion sense. She named Rihanna and Lil’ Kim as her biggest style inspirations.

Amiyah has over 1.1 million followers on her Instagram account and over 195,000 Twitter followers. She is considered a source of inspiration and motivation for many transgender people. Scott is determined to be a voice for the LGBT community and admires fellow transgender Laverne Cox.

Media, VH1 crowned her “ROI” after reporting that she “is the first transgender model to amass a large social following on Instagram.”

TV/Movie Career

Bravo came knocking its way in 2015 and Amiyahovered. For 4 weeks she filmed their hit series Real Housewives of Atlanta. However, the scenes involving her were never aired due to creative differences between her and the show’s producers. Amiyah established a good relationship with the cast and hinted at a return to reality TV, but for the straight payday.

In an interview, she said;

“When you’re on scripted TV, you’re playing a character. But I want to show people who I am. I’ve learned to never say never, so I’d be willing to do reality TV again…for the good check though. safe. “

Scott was thrust deep into the mainstream in 2016 when Lee Daniels cast her as Cotton, a transgender woman in the Fox musical drama series “Star.”
