BIOGRAPHY
Originally from Florida, Ashley Rickards is a precocious actress. She was only 14 when she took her first steps on television, a fleeting appearance in the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris . A small role which nevertheless launched the young girl’s career, since she appeared the following year in CSI: Manhattan before continuing with the cult comedies Ugly Betty and Entourage . These experiences gave him a little notoriety, enough in any case to be spotted by the producers of the Scott Brothers . The latter indeed offered her the difficult role of Samantha Walker, a young homeless teenager, in the sixth (and final) season of the show.
2011 was a pivotal year in his career. It was at this time that she got the lead role in the series Awkward . For five seasons and 89 episodes (two of which she directed), Ashley Rickards played the heroine, as clumsy as she was endearing, who made her known to the general public. At the same time, the young woman worked for the cinema: after a critically praised performance in Fly Away , she appeared in several films for teenagers ( Struck , Sassy Pants , The Outskirts ) but also developed an attraction for the horror genre ( At the Devil’s Door , A Haunted House 2 and two episodes from the first season of American Horror Story ).
Dividing her career between cinema and television, she however changes register by playing the supervillain Top in the third season of Flash .
