A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California, Carrie-Anne Moss pursued a modeling career that took her to Europe. Selected for a role, she immediately returned to Los Angeles to join the cast of Dark Justice . The young woman then went on to shoot another film, in a creation titled, ironically: Matrix . Then, the cinema saw her make her debut in the thriller Flashfire , alongside Billy Zane , or in The Soft Kill , with the atypical Brion James .
In 1999, the famous sisters Lilly and Lana Wachowski offered her her most memorable role, that of the main female character in the famous Matrix trilogy : Trinity. The latter, a multi-talented hacker, has skills in firearms and martial arts, which make her indispensable in the fight against the matrix, led with Neo. True blockbusters, the three parts of the saga propelled Carrie-Anne to stardom, allowing her to quickly appear in other productions.
The actress thus joined John Hurt in the action film New Blood , then changed register in Le Chocolat in 2000. In this romance, she played Caroline Clairmont, a very protective mother who opposed Juliette Binoche . Then, from 2004 to 2012, Carrie-Anne continued filming, but none of the productions in which she took part met with the expected success. Only the thriller Paranoiak by DJ Caruso , with Shia LaBeouf , seems to have a wider audience.
In 2008, Carrie-Anne joined Ryan Reynolds , Julia Roberts , and Willem Dafoe in Fireflies in the Garden, which, despite its impressive cast, gets very mixed reviews. Some time later, it was alongside Samuel L. Jackson that the actress, as an FBI agent, embarked on a race against time to save lives in No Limit .
The artist then participated in a new big production in 2012, Silent Hill: Revelation , where she played a terrifying priestess, with Kit Harrington , whom she found two years later in Pompeii . On the series side, Carrie-Anne plays a main role in Vegas , accompanied by Dennis Quaid , and Michael Chiklis , but the season is not renewed.

Netflix offers her to play a female version of lawyer Jeryn Hogarth, and to make her the first lesbian character in the Marvel universe. Subsequently, the actress made cameos in Daredevill , Iron Fist and The Defenders . In 2016, Carrie-Anne Moss puts on the coat of Doctor Athena Morrow, from season 2 of Humans , where machines, like the Matrix , turned human lives upside down. She can also be seen as an FBI agent in Wisting and as a strong matriarch in the second season of Tell Me a Story .
