Chief of Air Staff Abubakar: A Safe and Secure Nigeria is Within Reach

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), is optimistic about the possibility of achieving a safe and secure Nigeria. He believes that as long as the military remains focused on their mission, this goal is achievable.

Abubakar expressed this sentiment during a Christmas luncheon organized for the air component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in Maiduguri, Borno. The statement was disclosed by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Nigerian Air Force’s Director of Public Relations and Information, in Abuja.

Emphasizing the importance of a collaborative effort, Abubakar stressed that a ‘whole-of-society’ approach is crucial in winning the trust of Nigerians and swiftly overcoming the threats posed by terrorist groups and other non-state actors.

Furthermore, he highlighted the Nigerian Air Force’s ongoing engagement with local communities in the operational areas through medical outreach programs and welfare advocacy.

Abubakar also pointed out that NAF personnel on the frontlines receive continuous training on the law of armed conflict, rules of engagement, and the strict observance of human rights in accordance with the United Nations Charter on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
