Daniel Ek (born 21 February 1983) is a Swedish entrepreneur and technologist who launched Spotify, a music streaming service, and founded his first company at the age of 14 in 1997. His ventures also include founding Advertigo, an advertising company acquired by TradeDoubler, and participating in the Nordic auction company Tradera (acquired by Ebay) and Evertigo. Ek has previously held positions such as CTO at Jajja Communications, CTO at Stardoll, and CEO of µTorrent, the world’s most popular BitTorrent client with more than 100 million downloads. Daniel Ek attended the IT Gymnasium in Sundbyberg and enrolled at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology but did not complete his degree. He holds an estimated net worth of approximately $400 million.
