The World of PUBG

A captivating battle royale video game, PUBG, short for Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, is the brainchild of PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean company Krafton. Inspired by the Japanese film Battle Royale, the game started as a mod by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene before evolving into a standalone sensation under his vision. In PUBG, players fight fiercely to survive in a shrinking multiplayer arena.

Initially launched in March 2017 for Microsoft Windows via Steam’s early access program, PUBG saw a full release in December of that year. It later became accessible on Xbox One in December 2017 through Xbox Game Preview and on PlayStation 4 in December 2018. PUBG Mobile, a free-to-play mobile version, hit the markets in March 2018.

Praised for its realistic graphics, intense gameplay, and strategic depth, PUBG garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success with a massive player base exceeding 100 million worldwide. Despite technical challenges like server lag and cheating, the game stands as a global favorite, even winning Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2017. PUBG’s influence extends to popularizing the battle royale genre, paving the way for the success of other titles like Fortnite and Apex Legends.

In 2022, PUBG Corporation introduced a new mobile game, PUBG: New State, set in the future with fresh weapons, vehicles, and gameplay mechanics. The game was released in November 2022, further solidifying PUBG’s impact on the gaming landscape.

Undeniably a game-changer in the industry, PUBG offers action-packed gameplay and immersive experiences, making it a must-play for fans of challenging multiplayer shooters.

EMT Gear

With a focus on team healing over self-healing, EMT Gear only heals team members to balance the healing item benefits. The usage time for heal items has been adjusted accordingly.

Tactical Pack

  • Attachment slots reduced from 4 slots → 2 slots.
  • Enhancing the Tactical Pack aThe reduction of slots is an attempt to moderate individual item possession, excluding stackable items, such as firearms, to bring a similar feel to a Level 4 Backpack.

    Spotter Scope

This device has been enhanced for easier and quicker use.

    • Adjustable magnification capabilities from 4x to 8x for more detailed observations.
    • Removal of the white passive marker, with the red active marker being automatically generated and maintained for 7 seconds after a scan.
    • Screen Pings can now be placed while using the Spotter Scope.

    Drone

    • Screen update frequency increased from 5 seconds to 8 seconds.
    • Enemy scan radius reduced from 100m to 50m.
    • Players with a Jammer Pack are now undetectable by the Blue Chip Detector.

Recognizing the significance of Tactical Gear in gameplay, players must make weighty decisions when sacrificing a primary weapon slot for these items during critical battles. With the Tactical Gear system overhaul, diverse gameplay strategies are expected to emerge.

For solo play, crafting strategies around selected Tactical Gear can complement primary weapons. Different Tactical Gear items facilitate various approaches, from patient looting with the EMT Gear to precise long-range engagements with the Spotter Scope. In team play, strategic looting aligns with team dynamics, ensuring each member contributes effectively to the team’s objectives.

To maintain fair gameplay, proportional constraints based on in-game performance have been implemented. Tactical Gear items become irreplaceable once selected, and an overall balance update has been conducted.
