Emmanuel Jime: Benue State Governor does not need spokesperson in Presidential Villa

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi, Former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, NSC, Emmanuel Jime, clarified that Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has not assigned anyone to represent him in the Presidential Villa.

Jime responded to claims made by the state’s party zonal chairmen, denying allegations that he was part of a committee appointed by Alia to misrepresent the Benue APC in Aso Rock Villa and the National Secretariat.

He emphasized that those making the accusations were not familiar with how democracy operates at the executive level.

According to Jime, a sitting governor directly communicates with the President as the chief security officer and the state party leader, thus eliminating the need for a spokesperson.

He also criticized the view of politics as a means for personal gain, highlighting the necessity for a development agenda in Benue and urging support for the governor’s efforts.
