The actress, Ilfenesh Hadera, was born on December 1, 1985 in New York, United States. Her father, Asfaha Hadera, was an Ethiopian refugee, founder of the African Services Committee, which seeks to help immigrants from that continent.
She studied performing arts at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and acting at Harlem School of Arts. Before becoming an actress she worked with her father at the African Service Committee and as a waitress for ten years.
In 2010 she made her big screen debut in the film 1/20 . After that she participated in films such as Da Brick (2011) , Oldboy (20) , Show Me a Hero (2015) , Chicago Fire (2015) , The Punisher (2017) and She She’s Gotta Have It (2017) . ) .
Among her most recent television projects are The Illusionist (2018), Nola Darling (2017), The Punisher (2017) and Master of None (2017-). The latest feature films in which she has participated are Oldboy: Days of Vengeance (2013), Chi-Raq (2015) and Baywatch: Baywatch (2017).
