BIOGRAPHY
Attracted to comedy since the age of 5, Jessie T. Usher took advantage of his family’s move to Los Angeles to make appearances in series like FBI: Missing , Numb3rs , Mentalist and Criminal Minds . In 2011, the aspiring actor landed the role of Lyle Hugginson in the Cartoon Network children’s TV movie Level Up . The project having received a great reception from the public, a series was born immediately. For two seasons, the young boy teams up with Wyatt ( Gaelan Connell ), Dante ( Connor Del Rio ) and Angie ( Aimee Carrero ) to send monsters escaped from video games back into their virtual universe.
Noted for his performance as an American football player coached by Jim Caviezel in the biopic When the Game Stands Tall , the actor became, in October 2014, one of the protagonists of Survivor’s Remorse . In this Starzplay series inspired by the life of LeBron James , Jessie T. Usher plays Cam Calloway, a young basketball prodigy thrust into the spotlight after signing a multi-million dollar contract with a pro team. This new life is accompanied by multiple trials and problems that he must overcome during the four seasons that emerge. Building on this exposure, the young artist played Will Smith
‘s son in the sequel to Independence Day , opposite Danny Glover in the comedy-drama Almost Christmas , and landed the leading male role in the thriller Ride , opposite Bella Thorne . In 2019, Netflix subscribers found him in the third part of Shaft , alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Roundtree , the protagonists of the previous films. Survivor’s Remorse having ended, Jessie T. Usher is chosen to join the cast of the Amazon series The Boys based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson . He takes on the role of A-Train, member of the Seven and the fastest man in the world, who nevertheless fears one day being dethroned and thus losing his place.
