In order for Arsenal to clinch the Premier League title this season under the management of Mikel Arteta, former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie believes that they need to strengthen a crucial position – a striker – in the upcoming January transfer window.
Currently occupying the second spot on the Premier League table, Arsenal are trailing behind leaders Liverpool after 16 matches.
Arteta’s team suffered a 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa at Villa Park over the weekend, with John McGinn scoring the only goal of the game in the seventh minute, securing a home win for Unai Emery’s side.
During an interview with Sky Sports, Hendrie expressed his opinion, stating, “I think if they bring in a striker, Arsenal will win the league.”
The current attacking lineup for Arsenal includes the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel, Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard.
Recent speculations have linked Arsenal with moves for Brentford striker Ivan Toney and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
