Leicester City Manager Explains Why Ndidi Was Left Out of Sunderland Clash

Enzo Maresca, the manager of Leicester City, has provided insight into the absence of Wilfred Ndidi during the team’s Sky Bet Championship match against Sunderland.

It came as a surprise when Ndidi was not included in the squad that secured a 1-0 victory over the Black Cats at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.

According to Maresca, Ndidi was given a rest for the game.

“Yunus is fine. He could join us on Saturday. As for Wilf, it’s not just tiredness, but something a little more than that, so he needs a few days off. We don’t want to take any risks with him,” Maresca explained.

When asked about Ndidi’s availability for the next game, Maresca stated, “Wilf could play on Saturday, we’ll see.”

The 26-year-old has scored one goal in 12 league appearances for the Foxes this season.

Leicester City, currently aiming for a return to the Premier League, currently holds the top spot in the Championship table.
