BIOGRAPHY
Colombian actor Luis Mesa began his career at age 15 after joining a theater group in Medellín. In the nineties he began to appear in soap operas such as María (1992), Notas de passion (1993) and Espérame al final (1993). Even though he was having great success on Colombian television, Mesa chose to go to New York to study acting, directing, and documentary production. Upon his return to Colombia he played Miguel Ángel Matiz in the series Señora Isabel (1993). Other protagonists arrived at his door, such as his leading role in the telenovela El manantial (1996) and his special participation in the telenovela Yo amo a Paquita Gallego (1997). The actor gained more popularity a couple of years later when he was chosen to be part of Yo soy Betty, la fea (1999-2001), playing the role of Daniel Valencia, a cultured, power-loving executive accustomed to easily obtaining love from women. and hatred of his rivals.
