Nasarawa guber: Governor Sule urged to abandon plan to appeal tribunal's ruling - Ombugadu

David Ombugadu, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, has called on Governor Abdullahi Sule to abandon his plan to appeal the ruling of the election petition tribunal.

Ombugadu asserted that his victory is undeniable, therefore Governor Sule should let go of the idea of pursuing an appeal.

The Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal recently declared Ombugadu as the winner of the last governorship election in the state.

The tribunal has also instructed the withdrawal of Sule’s Certificate of Return and directed that it be given to Ombugadu as the duly elected governor of Nasarawa State.

In response, Ombugadu expressed his deep gratitude to the judiciary and the people of the state for the significant victory achieved at the tribunal.

Through the Director of Media and Publicity of his campaign organization, Mike Omeri, Ombugadu assured that the PDP remains committed to the principles of good governance, inclusivity, and service to the people of Nasarawa State.

He stated, “The actions of the people of Nasarawa State will further enhance our democracy and emphasize the importance of upholding justice and accountability in our electoral process.

“We commend the tribunal for their diligent and impartial examination of the evidence presented, resulting in this historic and landmark decision.

“Today, we not only celebrate a legal victory but also a triumph for the democratic aspirations of the people of Nasarawa State.

“We want to express our sincere appreciation to the numerous supporters and well-wishers of Dr. David Ombugadu who remained loyal and determined. Your faith in the democratic process and your dedication to our cause have been the driving force behind this victory,” said Omeri.

“Moving forward, we are committed to the principles of good governance, inclusivity, and serving the people of Nasarawa State.

“While we acknowledge Alhaji Abdullahi Sule’s right to appeal this decision, we urge him to let go of the idea, as the electoral mandate bestowed upon Dr. Ombugadu by the people of Nasarawa State is beyond question.

“We extend a hand of friendship to all our political opponents, inviting them to join us in reclaiming Nasarawa State from its current challenges and working towards peace, security, and sustainable development.”
