Ray Price, originally from Dallas, started his career studying to be a veterinarian and fighting in World War II. After the war, he transitioned to music and gained popularity with hits such as “Crazy Arms”, “My Shoes Keep Walking Back to You”, and “The Same Old Me”.
In 1968, he left Nashville and bought a ranch in Texas but continued to record albums. He was known for making traditional country music in the 1950s before transitioning to polished country pop music. Ray Price died at the age of 87 from pancreatic cancer in 2013.
He was married twice, secondly to Janie in 1970 and had one son with his first wife. Ray Price was buried at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
