Ice Prince Zamani, a popular Nigerian singer and rapper, has characterized the rivalry between Nigerians and South Africans on social media as nothing more than a “family feud.”
According to the artist, both nations genuinely desire the best for each other.
During his appearance on the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, hosted by British-Nigerian media personality Adesope Olajide (AKA Shopsydoo), Ice Prince expressed his opinion.
Ice Prince stated, “I think the rivalry between Nigerians and South Africans is just brotherly love. You know how brothers in a family always go at each other? I guess that’s what it is.
“We are literally brothers. We share the same father and mother, whether you are Nigerian, South African, Ghanaian, or Kenyan. As long as you are black, you are African. We are one and the same.”
“So, the way brothers clash in a family, I suppose that’s what it is. It’s not a real issue. South Africans want to see Nigerians thrive, and Nigerians want to see South Africans succeed. That’s what it is. We are just pushing each other as long as it doesn’t escalate to something ugly.”
“And so far, there hasn’t been any significant feud. By God’s grace, there will never be. We are essentially identical.”
