BIOGRAPHY
Rowan Atkinson is a British comedian born on January 6, 1955. Atkinson is extremely well known in the film and comedy industry for a character he played for more than 10 years: Mr. Bean, a clumsy man, strange when it came to socialize, but he knew how to get tremendous laughter from his audience. This character appeared for the first time in a New Year’s special, in 1990. Due to the success, Atkinson continued writing the adventures of Mr. Bean for a long time, however, when the actor turned 50, he abandoned the project, as he claimed that , instead of causing fun, would cause pity playing the socially awkward Mr. Bean. In Mexico, the show and the character’s movies were broadcast for many years on Channel 7.
After saying goodbye to his best-known creation, Atkinson, he tried to give his career a second chance outside of Mr. Bean, so he began to audition for different films that did not have much to do with comedy, one of them was Never Say Never Again (1983), a film that is part of the James Bond universe. Later he could be seen in The Tall Guy (1989), Scooby-Doo (2002), Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) and Love Actually (2003), the latter two being productions written by his old friend and collaborator, Richard Curtis. , who has brought to the big screen the scripts for A Matter of Time (2014), Notting Hill (1991), Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001), among others.
In addition to being a talented comedian, Atkinson is a political activist who lends his voice to speak out against homophobia and violations of the right to freedom of expression in the United Kingdom. He has two children with his ex-wife, Suneta Sastry, whom he divorced in 2015. He is currently in a relationship with Louise Ford, with whom he has a son.
