New details have surfaced regarding the brutal murder of Anpe Pankyes, popularly known as Chop Boii.
The singer, originally from Plateau State but residing in Abuja, was discovered slain earlier this week at a property on 62 Crescent, Gwarimpa.
A friend took to Twitter to emphasize that Chop Boii was not the intended target but was tragically caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Chop Boii, his producer Beerolings, and the producer’s girlfriend, Blessing, were all found dead in the apartment on September 27.
The reported killings took place on Monday, September 26.
According to the friend’s Twitter update, the perpetrators were granted access to the compound by the security guard as the producer had a mini studio in his living room, and it was customary for people to visit.
Upon entering the house, the killers proceeded to attack anyone in sight.
Neighbors heard the victims’ cries but later interpreted them as part of a lively birthday celebration, as they heard people singing “Happy Birthday.”
After the murders, the assailants cleaned up and departed as if nothing had occurred.
When Chop Boii’s girlfriend and friend failed to make contact with him for an entire day, they became concerned. Chop Boii’s sister also contacted the friend, and with no clue about Chop Boii’s whereabouts, they went to the producer’s residence.
Upon arrival, they noticed the door was not securely locked, prompting them to alert the police.
Upon their arrival, the police encountered a gruesome scene.
Chop Boii was reportedly bound, with his head bashed in. Blessing was brutally hacked to death, and Beerolings suffered a fractured skull with his brains strewn on the floor, as per the friend’s Twitter account.
The victims’ bodies had been horrifically mutilated, with their left hands severed.
The culprits used the victims’ blood to inscribe messages on the wall.
Chop Boii’s severed hand was allegedly used to write “Him” on the wall.
Another message on the wall reads: “We told them not to play with her.”
The friend disclosed that the Commissioner of Police and SCID have taken charge of the case.
