At just 37 years old, Mike Mora, the husband of singer Kelis, has tragically passed away.
The renowned photographer revealed his diagnosis of stage 4 stomach cancer back in September 2020 and was given only 18 months to live. He sadly lost his battle in passing.
Representatives for Kelis, who is 42, have confirmed her husband’s death in a statement (via ET), and have requested that her privacy be respected during this time.
Steve Satterhwaite, of Red Light Management, stated, ‘Sadly, it’s true that Mike Mora has passed away. We would ask all to respect Kelis and her family’s privacy as of right now. Thank you.’
As of now, the singer has not publicly commented about the passing of her husband.
Kelis and Mora were married in 2014. They have a son named Shepherd, aged 6, and a daughter whose name has not been revealed.
The singer also has a 12-year-old son, Knight, with her ex-husband Nas, whom she was married to from 2005 to 2010.
In September 2021, Mora revealed on his Instagram that he had stage 4 stomach cancer, which had spread to the lymph nodes in his back.
