Sporting Lagos has finalized the signing of Joseph Loro, a midfielder from South Sudan.
Loro arrived in Lagos on Tuesday to complete the transfer.
The 19-year-old has agreed to a one-year deal with the team managed by Paul Offor.
The captain of South Sudan’s U-20 team rejected an offer from Belgian Pro League club, Standard Liege, in favor of joining Sporting Lagos.
The skilled midfielder represented his country in the March 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Sporting Lagos was established slightly more than a year ago.
Last month, the club earned promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League after competing in the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs held in Asaba.
