The death of Ibadan-based Instagram cloth vendor, Adeshina Olayinka aka Khadi, has led to the arrest of one individual by the police in Oyo state. The controversial circumstances surrounding Khadi’s death in a hotel in Akobo, Ibadan, on April 6, has prompted an investigation. Reports suggest that Khadi visited the hotel with a man who checked out early the next morning. It was alleged that she had borrowed a power bank from a hotel staff, and when the staff went to retrieve it at check-out time, they found her in a concerning state. Although she was still breathing, Khadi passed away while being transported to the hospital. Following these events, the suspect willingly presented himself to the Akobo Police Division. Update: Police arrests one over death of popular Ibadan vendor

The police in Oyo state has arrested one person in connection with the death of popular Ibadan-based Instagram cloth vendor, Adeshina Olayinka aka Khadi.

The deceased died in controversial circumstances in a hotel in Akobo, in Ibadan, the state capital last Thursday, April 6.

Unconfirmed reports claim Khadi visited the hotel with a man who checked out early morning on the day of the incident. According to reports, the late Khaji had borrowed a power bank from one of the hotel staff. When it was check-out time, the staff who gave her the power bank went to the room to ask for it and found her in a not-so-good condition. Seeing that she was still breathing, the hotel management quickly alerted the police and was in the process of taking her to the hospital when she died.

The suspect was immediately alerted and he voluntarily presented himself to the Akobo Police Division.

The state police command says investigation into the incident is in progress.
