BIOGRAPHY
Anthony Howard Goldwyn, known simply as Tony Goldwyn , is an American actor and director, born on May 20, 1960, in Los Angeles, California. Born into an artistic family linked to cinema and theater, his mother was the actress Jennifer Howard, his father was the producer Samuel Goldwyn Jr., while his grandfather was the legendary producer and businessman Samuel Goldwyn, one of the founders of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. From a young age he decided to follow in his mother’s footsteps and studied drama at Brandeis University, in his native country, and then traveled to London to attend the London Academy of Dramatic Arts. He made his professional debut in the film Friday the 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) and then began to work frequently on television, in series such as LA Law (1988) and Favorite Son (1989). Success came when he took on the antagonistic role of Carl Bruner in the successful film Ghost: The Shadow of Love (1990), which served as an important and definitive boost in his career. With more than 70 credits in his career, Tony has been part of films such as The Pelican Report (1993), Nixon (1995), The Sixth Day (2000), The Last Samurai (2003), The Informant (2017) and series such as Scandal (2012-2018), Chambers (2019) and Lovecraft Country (2020), among several others.
