Travis Scott Offers Full Refunds to Astroworld Festival Attendees after 8 Deaths and Hundreds Injured

Following the tragedy at NRG Park last Friday night, American rapper Travis Scott has announced full refunds for all ticket holders of the Astroworld Festival.

Authorities confirmed that at least eight individuals lost their lives while hundreds suffered injuries at the sold-out event.

The festival’s 100,000 tickets were sold out within an hour after their release in May. The Astroworld Festival, originally launched by Scott in 2018, was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, much like other major events.

According to XXL Mag, general admission tickets in 2019 were priced at $179 for a two-day pass, while this year, the cost increased to $300 plus an additional $65 in fees. VIP packages ranged from $725 to $1,000, excluding fees.

Despite the price hikes, the Sicko Mode artist is ensuring that all attendees receive refunds for the outdoor festival.

Recalling their experience, a couple of concertgoers shared with ABC13 that they struggled to breathe and were eventually rescued from the chaotic scene after attempting to exit during Travis Scott’s performance.

In the aftermath, Houston city leaders reported that 13 of the 25 victims remained hospitalized, with five of them being under 18 years old.

Furthermore, lawsuits have been filed in Houston in response to the deaths and injuries at the Astroworld Festival.
