Valentino Rossi is undeniably one of the most accomplished Italian motorcycle racers, his exploits have set him apart from all. As well as being a multiple MotoGP World Champion, Mr. Valentino is famous for his nine Grand Prix World Championships. Of this number, seven belong to the upper class.
If his exploits on the race track brought him fame and fortune, being the owner of Sky Racing Team enhanced it. Valentino, better known as The Doctor, was the first to achieve the absolute ranking of victories in 500cc / MotoGP races with a total of 89 victories. He is also the second all-time overall with a total of 115 race wins. Giacomo Agostini is first with 122 race wins. On June 3, 2018, the road racer became the first MotoGP rider to achieve more than 5,000 championship points in a career.

Valentino Rossi was born in Urbino, Italy on February 16, 1979. His father, Graziano Rossi, is a retired Grand Prix motorcyclist while his mother, Stefania Rossi, works as a surveyor with the Italian municipality of Tavullia. She is proud that the three men in her life are splendid runners. Valentino has a much younger half-brother, Luca Marini, a member of Sky Racing Team VR46 in Moto2.
Valentino’s love for racing started with Karting, and to the best of our knowledge he started racing when he was very underage – at the age of 5. It is said that his father fed his need for speed. So it was no surprise that 11-year-old Valentino won a kart championship in 1990. He soon switched to minibikes which allowed him to win many regional competitions before 1991 was exhausted. Later, he exclusively started racing only in mini motor (minibike) until 1993 when he won the Italian title.
In 1994 The Doctor raced in the Italian 125cc Championship with a prototype motorcycle built by the famous Sandroni of Guido Mancini (former racer and mechanic) which used a Rotax engine. The following year (1995), he moved to Aprilia. He won the 125cc title for the Italians and reaffirmed himself as a force to be reckoned with when he moved up to the third sport in the European championship. Thanks to these achievements, it was no major surprise to win the World Championship, his first in 1997. The star soon moved up to the 250cc class also with Aprilia and won the World Championship again in 1999.
The following year (2000), he graduated first class where he maintained his earnings, walking home with multiple championships. If you check the records, you will surely find that he is the winner of the 2001 500cc World Championship. Always celebrated for this, he won the main trophies of the 2002 and 2003 MotoGP World Championships.
With Yamaha which he joined after leaving Honda, he won the world championships in 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009. For the 2011 season, The Doctor left Yamaha for Ducati but unfortunately had two seasons without a win. He returned to Yamaha in 2013.
The Italian biker seems to have had a long feud with younger Spanish biker and multiple title winner Marc Marquez. In 2015, Marc had a crash during a race for which Valentino was penalized with a penalty for the last moto. He accused Marc of consciously wanting to ruin his season.
The gambling-related feud seemed to have been resolved in 2016 following their handshake at Parc Fermé in the 2016 Catalunya Grand Prix. “risky” overtaking by Marc during the race. His other past rivals are Max Biaggi, Sete Gibernau, Casey Stoney and Jorge Lorenzo.
