BIOGRAPHY
Alberto Ammann Rey is an actor of Spanish-Argentine origin, born on October 20, 1978 in the city of Córdoba. He is the son of the journalist, writer and politician of the Humanist Party, Luis Alberto Ammann, and Nélida Rey. During the Argentine military dictatorship, Alberto Ammann lived in Spain between 1978 and 1982. Ammann trained as an actor at the Juan Carlos Corazza school where he also studied at the Jolie Libois Theater Seminar. He achieved fame playing the prison officer, Juan Oliver, in his debut film De él Celda 211 (2009) and in February 2010, at the XXIV Goya Awards gala, he won the award for best new actor. Later, he participated in the films Lope (2010), as Lope de Vega, and in Eva (2011) as David Garel. In 2012 he participated in Invasor , and in 2012 he starred in the films Tesis sobre un homicide​ and Combustión . In 2015 he played Hélmer Herrera, in the Netflix original series Narcos (2015). In 2020 he premiered a film about torture in Uruguay, El Año De La Furia (2020). In the same year, he starred in the film The Hunter’s Silence , for which he won the Silver Biznaga for best male performance at the Malaga Film Festival.
