Attracted very early by the performing arts, it was natural for Annie Potts to pursue theater studies. A graduate, her future is temporarily compromised following a car accident she suffered at the age of 20. However, in 1978, the young woman hit the screen opposite the star of Star Wars , Mark Hamill , in Corvette Summer . Her performance in the role of a prostitute earned her a Golden Globe nomination in the Female Revelation of the Year category. Two years later, the actress landed her first regular role on television, in the sitcom Goodtime Girls , featuring a roommate of women during the Second World War.
