To address his medical leave, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has formally informed the Ondo State House of Assembly of his absence and delegated the responsibilities of the office to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Following the Governor’s notification, TVC reported that the Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji revealed that Akeredolu would be on a 21-day medical leave abroad from June 7, 2023, to July 6, 2023.
The leave is extended to July 6 due to public holidays on June 12 (Democracy Day) and Eid el Kabir (28th and 29th June).
The state government has not disclosed the specific details of Mr. Akeredolu’s illness or the location where he will receive treatment overseas.
