After Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Everton, manager Pep Guardiola expressed his hope that Erling Haaland would be able to return to action before the end of January.
Guardiola revealed that Haaland, who has been sidelined due to a foot injury, is still unable to train with his teammates and has missed the last six games across all competitions.
Addressing Haaland’s status, Guardiola explained, “He is training alone but he is not training with the team. It is a question of when the pain will disappear. We hope he will be back in January, but a stress on the bone is so painful.”
Guardiola contrasted Haaland’s situation with that of Kevin De Bruyne, who is back training with the team, emphasizing, “Erling is not like a guy like Phil Foden with smaller skin. Erling is huge.”
