Reports suggest that Manchester United will reject the opportunity to secure Sofyan Amrabat’s transfer from Fiorentina on a permanent basis next summer.
Amrabat became one of the top targets for Man United manager Erik ten Hag last summer following his impressive performances for his club and country.
The midfielder played a significant role in Morocco’s journey to the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Arriving at Man United on deadline day, the 27-year-old was signed on loan for £8.5 million, with an option to buy for £21.5 million.
However, Amrabat’s performance has been underwhelming this season, contributing to Man United’s inconsistent form, which has left them in 7th position in the Premier League and eliminated from the Champions League.
Nonetheless, the Sun reports that Man United is unlikely to make Amrabat’s loan deal permanent, as Ten Hag is already making plans for his departure at the end of the season.
While acknowledging Amrabat’s talent, it is suggested that he may struggle to adapt to the pace and demands of the Premier League.
