DeWulf grew up in New York City with Muslim parents and later moved to Georgia. Despite her childhood aspiration to perform, she was initially prohibited from attending acting classes. She pursued her education at Boston University School of Arts before making her debut in the short film “West Bank Story,” which won an Academy Award. In the film, she played Fatima, a Palestinian who develops a romance with an Israeli soldier. To enhance her prospects in the industry, she relocated to Los Angeles on her own.

In 2005, she secured a role in the television series “CSI: NY,” which paved the way for a series of consistent acting projects, including appearances in “Girlfriends,” “Numb3rs,” and “Love, Inc.” In the movie “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” in 2009, where she portrayed the character “Melanie,” also known as the “Ghost of Girlfriend Present,” derived from Charles Dickens’s novel “A Christmas Carol,” DeWulf reached one of her most notable roles, thereby contributing to her net worth.

DeWulf embarked on her stint in the FX TV series “Anger Management” in 2012, based on the movie of the same name and starring alongside Charlie Sheen. The show’s debut episode garnered the highest ratings for any sitcom premiere in cable-TV history. Despite harsh criticism from reviewers, the show concluded on the 22nd of December 2014 after airing a total of 100 episodes.

Additionally, in 2012, DeWulf featured in ten episodes of the web series “Burning Love” as “Titi,” a production parodying reality dating shows and produced by comedic actor Ben Stiller. Her portrayal earned her the title of “Best Actress” at the Comedy Nina Film and Screenplay Festival in 2014.

DeWulf has been featured in various publications’ pictorials and secured the 93rd spot in “Maxim’s Hot 100” in 2014, along with posing for “Men’s Health.” Starting from 2015, she participated in the reality show “Hockey Wives” for its first two seasons, portraying the wife of Ryan Miller. Through her television, magazine, and film assignments, as well as her spouse’s reported $6 million earnings and $14 million net worth, DeWulf has earned a substantial income. In 2016, she made an appearance in the reality program “Hell’s Kitchen” as herself.

In her personal life, DeWulf tied the knot with artist James DeWulf in 2000, following which they divorced in 2010. A year later, she remarried Ryan Miller, a hockey player representing the Vancouver Canucks, with whom she shares a child. DeWulf advocates for pursuing roles that transcend ethnic boundaries and emphasizes the significance of diversity. She self-identifies as “spiritual” and is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, and English. Currently, she resides in Los Angeles with her family.

1I’m used to always being different, in any context. People always want to know how I grew up, so I just say I grew up Muslim. That’s the truth. Two Muslim girls can write me two extremely different letters – and they do. Some are very supportive, and some question what I do.
2I was in more of the artsy crowd in high school.
3My go-to drink is a mix of cukes, kale, apple and other healthy stuff.
4I think it’s great when dramatic actors do lighter, funny roles.
5Sometimes I go through a yoga phase or a spinning phase, but I try to vary my workouts so my body doesn’t get used to any one thing.
6It is challenging and hard not to accept all stereotypical roles that get thrown your way. For me, I’ve been really, really lucky because I have been able to play a lot of different parts.
7I put a lot of pressure to keep working. And when I’m not working, my agent books three auditions a day. I’d rather go to the set and work.
8I love my heritage both as someone who grew up as a Muslim and as an Indian – it’s part of who I am and I would never deny it.
9Even in comedy it’s important to get your body acquainted with what you’re going to do.
10Friends always ask me what the best Indian restaurant in L.A. is. I’m like, ‘I don’t know, dude. I have an app on my iPhone for that.’
11I like to make sure I get enough rest, so I don’t make it a priority to go out late night.
12Ironically, it was because I was raised as a Muslim in the South, that I realised the value in being true to who you really are. I’ve just got so many things going on inside. I don’t know how to resolve all of them other than being true to who I am.
13Yoga is the most boring exercise. It’s for people who are too lazy to get on the elliptical. Bikram, where they heat up the room to mimic India’sIt’s commonly thought that the thin physique of people in India is attributed to the hot climate rather than yoga practice. The reality is that their slimness is mainly due to food scarcity.

Lately, I’ve taken up juicing as a snack between meals. I prefer juices with a high vegetable content, especially green ones. I’ve found that a nutritious juice can effectively suppress my hunger until the next mealtime.

I have a great admiration for Martin Sheen; he has a surprisingly quick and amusing personality.

Indulging in a weekly massage is one of my personal luxuries; it helps realign my body and alleviates tension, especially in my shoulders and back.
