APC will capture Anambra state in 2025 — Ngige

The bold proclamation has been made by the former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will gain control of Anambra state from the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in 2025. The statement was delivered on Saturday as Ngige addressed reporters at his residence in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area.

Acknowledging the presence of two factions within the APC in the state, Ngige expressed confidence that the party’s division would not impede its success in the 2025 governorship election, as efforts would be made to reconcile disgruntled members prior to the election.

Ngige’s remarks included an acknowledgment of the existence of two factions within the state’s APC. “Of course, there is APC 1 and APC 2 in the state. I will not deny that. I am both the father and face of APC in Anambra. I am certain that some newcomers have joined us since 2021,” he stated.

Drawing a comparison between the party and a church, Ngige emphasized the openness of the APC to new members. However, he highlighted the challenge of integrating new entrants with the party’s longstanding members, who have been instrumental in its development from the time of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) through several iterations to its current manifestation as the APC.
