EPL: Nottingham Forest Manager Believes Awoniyi Will Come Back Stronger from Injury

According to Nottingham Forest’s manager, Steve Cooper, Taiwo Awoniyi will bounce back stronger after his recent injury setback.

The Nigerian international is currently sidelined due to a groin injury.

It is expected that Awoniyi will spend approximately one month on the sidelines.

Furthermore, this injury has resulted in the striker withdrawing from Nigeria’s upcoming friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

Last season, Awoniyi also missed a few weeks of action due to a similar groin problem.

However, he made a successful return and played a crucial role in Nottingham Forest’s fight for survival in the Premier League.

Cooper has expressed his confidence in the striker’s ability to perform well once he returns from injury.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post, Cooper said, “Of course, it is a blow. He has been our key upfront player. He’ll be out for a month, as it occurred during the Brentford game.”

Adding, “He has previously suffered from injuries and returned in excellent form. He knows that he can overcome this. He’s determined.”

This season, Awoniyi has scored three goals in the Premier League.
