BIOGRAPHY
Fernando Sariñana Márquez is a Mexican director, screenwriter and product, born on December 15, 1958, in Mexico City. He began his university studies in economics, but his taste and interest in music and cinema made him change course. He studied communication at the UAM-Xochimilco and obtained a master’s degree in Film and Television at the University of California, Los Angeles. Returning to Mexico, Fernando directed the short film Roxanne , in 16 mm format, which helped him get involved in the Mexican film industry. His first credit is as producer of the film La vida conyugal (1993), directed by Carlos Carrera, and later he debuted as a director with the film Hasta muerte (1994), earning several nominations for the Ariel Award in 1995, including best director. He spent several years as a producer, producing films such as Profundo crimson (1996) and Cilantro y perejil (1996), until returning as a director with the successful film Todo el poder (2000). In his career, Sariñana has been responsible for films such as El Segundo Aire (2001), Dark Cities (2002), Amar Te Duele (2002), Niñas Mal (2007), Los Fabulosos 7 (2013) and has recently been involved in series television shows such as El Torito (2015) and Jane the Virgin (2017). In 2019 he released his most recent film, Mama went on a trip , starring the television host, Andrea Legarreta.
