According to sources, Jason Momoa and Eiza González have decided to go their separate ways after dating for several months.
A source has informed PEOPLE that the 42-year-old Aquaman actor and the 32-year-old Ambulance actress have split, citing their differences as the reason.
Another insider revealed that despite the breakup, there is still hope for a reconciliation. “They love each other very much having dated quietly for some time before it became public,” the source added. “They are in different life stages.”
In May, a source previously disclosed to PEOPLE that Momoa and González had been “exclusive” since February, after meeting through work and mutual connections.
“Right now it’s not a very serious situation and they’re both just seeing where it goes,” the source said. “They’ve been spending time together when they can and making it work between their two busy schedules.”
The same source described González as “a very fun, down-for-anything type person and is pretty adventurous for the most part,” emphasizing her compatibility with Momoa. Additionally, Momoa was recognized as “a really good guy, very generous and happy all the time; he’s all about love and spreading love.”
Referring to Momoa’s approach to relationships, the source mentioned, “It’s not that he’s not taking it seriously, but with his kids, he’s not going to rush into anything quickly,” highlighting his parental responsibilities as a factor in his romantic decisions.
The source further discussed Momoa’s relationship with his ex-wife, Lisa Bonet, stating, “He had a lot of love for Lisa and there is still a lot of mutual respect there as far as she’s concerned.”
Momoa and Bonet, 54, announced their decision to “part ways in marriage” in January after being married for nearly five years, expressing their continued love and devotion to each other and their children.
“The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become,” they said in the statement.
“Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life … teaching our children what’s possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail J & L,” the pair added.
