Has Jayden Jensen Been Found?

According to authorities, the search for Jayden Jensen, 16, who went missing after falling into the Snake River during a hunting trip in southern Bingham County, has shifted from a rescue to a recovery effort. Jayden, from Pocatello, was last seen at 1 p.m. on December 6 while attempting to retrieve a duck he had shot while hunting with friends. Despite continued efforts, Jayden has not been found. The sheriff’s office is using specialized sonar equipment called side-scan sonar to aid in the search, which can detect and image objects on the riverbed.

Moreover, the use of these techniques, initially deployed in the vicinity of the incident, has now been expanded. The location of the incident, amid rural surroundings between McTucker Ponds and the American Falls Reservoir, led to search efforts in both the Snake River and the reservoir. Additionally, the presence of an ice shelf on the southern part of the reservoir, particularly on the east side, has impeded search operations, as per the sheriff’s office.
