Bio of Diana Dors
On October 23, 1931, DianaDors was born to her mother Winifred Maud Mary who, at the time, was unsure if her husband, Albert Edward Sidney Fluck, was responsible for the pregnancy. It was mostly because she was having an affair at the time with an undisclosed man who she thinks might also be her father. The actress, whose original name is Diana Mary Fluck, is British due to her birth at Haven Nursing Home, Swindon, Wiltshire, England, UK.
The actress studied at Colville House and later at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) after excelling in her elocution studies. She joined LAMDA when she was 14 (although people say she was older), becoming the institution’s youngest student. One of her favorite moments back then was visiting the cinema, where she performed in front of Hollywood actresses Jean Harlow, Lana Turner and Veronica Lake.
Career
After working with LAMDA on several theatrical productions, Diana Dors had her first role in the 1947 film noir The Shop at Sly Corner which earned her £8 a day for three days. It was during the signing of this contract that she changed her surname to Dors with the agreement of her father. Dors is the maiden name of Diana’s maternal grandmother.
Her next project was Dancing with Crime (1947), where she starred alongside Barry K. Barnes, Richard Attenborough and Sheila Simshot, for which she received £10 a day for 15 days. Diana Dors eventually graduated from LAMDA the same year with the London Films Cup award. She joined Rank Organization, an entertainment agency at the age of 16, and acted in many other films until 1949 when she was promoted to a lead role in film. Diamond City.

Dors’ second marriage was to Richard Dawson in New York. They tied the knot on April 12, 1959, and remained together seven years later, when they divorced in 1966. They had two sons, Gary Dawson and Mark Dawson.
Alan Lake was the last man to whom Diana replied “I do” on November 23, 1968. He remained her husband until his death on September 4, 1984. The couple had a son named Jason Lake.
Dead
Diana Dors died at the AMI Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor due to a recurrence of ovarian cancer. She was taken to hospital after collapsing at her home near Windsor. Before her death, the singer and actress had two surgeries to remove cancerous tumors and also suffered from meningitis.
Diana was laid to rest in Sunningdale Catholic Cemetery following a funeral service held in her honor on May 11, 1984 at Sacred Heart Church in Sunningdale.
